He is one of the best kickers in the NFL.

Will Butker and the Chiefs rack up another Super Bowl title? Some delivered expanded messages as part of that support.

The Washington Commanders, for example, said pride month is actually about love.

And some teams sent tweets and went the extra step by altering their logos or X banners.

The Commanders, Buffalo Bills, and Philadelphia Eagles changed the color of their logos to match a pride flag.

Some Teams REALLY Are For Pride Month

The Vikings not only tweeted out their support and changed their logo but also changed the banner of the X account.

Yet a parent being home when the kids got off the schoolbus wasn’t the tenor of Butker’s comments. It does not convey opposition.

It merely conveys what it is: Silence.

Over the weekend, 11 NFL teams chose not to tweet or acknowledge pride month.

10 NFL teams so far decline to bow to pride month messaging

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

These people would recoil if, say, a month-long puppy or a straight people celebration was shoved down their throats every year, too.

Regardless, in today's world, mere silence is often deemed as both support or opposition by radicals on opposite sides.

So be warned here: Reporting what teams did not tweet an announcement joining the pride month support and celebrations is dispassionate.

But it has been growing seemingly inexorably for perhaps a dozen years or more.

So, to no surprise, teams are sending messages that they're for pride month in 2024.

The man bites dog factor, on the other hand, is seen when teams either oppose pride month or say nothing about it.

And for clarity's sake, let it be known that no team has said it opposes pride month.

It is clear that many within the NFL – and society – don't like pride month for varying reasons.

I’m sure Kelce would say the same about a gay teammate who helped the Chiefs win three Super Bowls.

I truly have no doubt.

The Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC for the NFL Playoffs. “Even Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce rocked to it in a playoff game!”

Another person wrote in response to about Gay potentially returning to KC, “I’m all for this reunion to take place.

We’ve seen it over and over again in professional sports, including the NFL. When a public figure like a professional athlete says or does something problematic, their teammates rally around them.

The rush-to-defense last year by people around the Kansas City Chiefs, protecting kicker Harrison Butker, was more of the same.

There is a culture war being waged.

And, yes, sometimes participants cross lines. Willie Gay’s energy is unmatched and we really need him to come on home to The Kingdom!!!”

“Two players I liked more than the average Chiefs fan were Willie Gay Jr and Charles Omenihu. Butker gave what has been categorized (in my opinion correctly) as an anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-woman speech.

Does their defense of Butker mean they all hate women and gays?

I echo what Jim wrote at the time, and I defend Butker’s legal right to say what he said.

Over the 2024 political season, Clark Hunt made many donations to Republican candidates, including Texas Senator John Cornyn, who wasn’t even running at the time, and Missouri Senator Josh Hawley. Butker and the support shown to him by people in and around the Chiefs and NFL did emotional harm to gay and bi athletes and coaches not just in the NFL, but across men’s pro sports.

While someone can say “Butker has the right to do this,” it’s another thing to have one of the billionaires in the United States extol the virtues of his employee likening gay people to a deadly sin.

Clark Hunt’s wife and daughter also both publicly shared their undying support for a man — Butker — who thinks they will be most happy covered in flour, baking pies and delivering babies.

Of course not.

Maxen is coming out to live openly with his boyfriend and inspire others to be their true selves. I hope to see both of them back in the red and gold,” another person wrote.

He was a full-time starter on defense three out of the four years he was in Kansas City.

Gracie Hunt, who is reportedly part of the Chiefs cheer program and who stands to inherit her father’s wealth and Chiefs ownership, defended Butker with her own personal story.

“I had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up,” Gracie said.

I was in attendance when Willie said send the text message and tell them to play Swag Surf.

Still, ignoring of the anti-gay sentiment from the Chiefs’ player is tough to take for many LGBTQ fans.
