Walmart stated that the decision reflects an evolving strategy to foster a “sense of belonging” rather than focusing on DEI terminology.

The company previously doubled down on its support for the LGBTQIA+ community, emphasizing that they are proud to be advocates.

Walmart’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Latriece Watkins, affirmed the company’s decision to stand for equal rights. The company confirmed it will discontinue its five-year, $100 million commitment to the Center for Racial Equity, a nonprofit established in 2020.

  • LGBTQ+ Walmart brands to shop for Pride Month 2024

Pride Month, celebrated each year in June, is a time to celebrate inclusivity and support the LGBTQ+ community. Let's send the same message to Walmart.

    1. Sign the petition to Walmart, asking the company to pull its online promotion of LGBTQ+ merchandise.
    2. Call your local Walmart and tell the manager that "gay" displays in your store violate you community’s standards and urge him/her to not allow them.

One person tweeted, “Bro Walmart just dropped a pride line and I HAVE to get this,” alongside a photo of a shirt that reads “Homo estas?” Others were less enthusiastic. Buying from brands that support LGBTQ+ individuals is something we should all do more of whether it's Pride Month or not.
